London, England, United Kingdom · Product Team expand job description ↓

Description

We are a diverse team of engineers, entrepreneurs and teachers, who believe that every child, irrespective of background, wealth or location, should have individual access to teaching that will inspire a love of learning and help them reach their potential.

We build intelligent technology that connects a global community of online tutors to thousands of students in schools across the UK, to provide extra help for children at risk of social or academic failure.

Having proven our model, raised £3.5m and worked with thousands of pupils delivering over 100,000 hours of 1-1 tutoring through our platform, we are pursuing very ambitious plans to expand both our scale and scope. We’re looking for top talent like you to join our team and help us achieve our vision.

Requirements

We are looking for a true team player with experience of building consumer focused applications. We want a person who has a hunger for learning and is keen to make progress individually, and to improve team, product and business performance.

We constantly evaluate technologies, often with spike (prototyping) days (Node/Phoenix/Elixir current candidates) so your ability and desire to rapidly adopt and adapt, applying previous knowledge, is more important than specific language/framework experience.

  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
  • Automated testing

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Agile software development using TDD & BDD
